Enrichment - FAQ

Thank you for your interest in Southside Classical Academy's Homeschool Enrichment Program. We covet your prayer as we embark on another year of this program- that we may we glorify the Lord in our conduct and be a blessing to our enrolled families.

1 | Where does Southside Classical Academy's Enrichment Program meet?

SCA Enrichment meets at Southside Bible Church at 7050 S Tucson Way in Centennial, CO on Thursdays. Arrival starts at 8:30 a.m. and our final activity finishes at 3:20 p.m.  All of our classes run during the traditional school year.

2 | Which grades does SCAE serve?

For our 2025-26 school year, we will offer classes for homeschooled Kindergarten-8th grade students.

3 | Can we pick and choose courses?

To give our students a unified culture and community, our program is a full-day commitment. Parents are, of course, encouraged to spend time at home elaborating on any subjects they choose!

4 | Do I need to stay on campus while my child attends SCAE?

One of the unique aspects of SCA's Enrichment program is that it is a drop-off program. Unless you are scheduled to volunteer, you are not required to stay on campus.

5 | My child is not academically the same as his peers. Where will he be placed at SCAE?

SCAE is a place where students can learn alongside their age-mates without worrying about the differences in their academic abilities. Our focus is on helping students connect with their peers on a social and emotional level.

6 | Can I visit?

We welcome prospective families to visit us! We will be hosting Preview Sessions for students and their parents. Stay tuned to be updated on dates, and sign up for our announcement list in the meantime!

7 | How do the volunteer hours work?

Parents are required to serve 14 hours per child over the course of the entire year. For example, if a parent has a 2nd grader and a 6th grader, the parent serves 28 volunteer hours over the course of the school year.  Volunteers help keep our program running smoothly! Learn more about volunteering in our Service Commitment.

8 | What if I can't volunteer?

We understand that some parents aren't able to fulfill their volunteer hour commitment.  No worries!  Those parents can choose to pay $15/volunteer hour that they can't serve.  The money collected goes toward a scholarship to help families who are able to volunteer more and benefit from a reduced tuition.

9 | How much does SCAE cost to attend?

Please see our Tuition and Fees section for specifics. SCAE tuition has a reduced rate for students of parents who are confirmed members of Southside Bible Church.

10 | Is financial aid available?

Our pricing structure is as low as possible to be accessible to most families and we are dependent on tuition payments to staff the program. Once we reach a critical mass, we would love to offer aid and discounts to families with multiple children. Please bear with us as we grow! If there is a financial need to make SCAE possible for your family, please contact someone in leadership - we would love to find a solution.

11 | Who are the instructors?

Meet our current teachers here! Our instructors do not need a CDE teaching license to apply for teaching roles- they may be parents with college degrees, grandparents who spent a career in a subject-related field, or community members who are passionate about delivering Christ-centered education. All positions are filled with Christians who agree with our Statement of Faith and have been selected for their roles via the application process.

12 | Who can enroll?

Priority placement will be given to applicants who are members of Southside Bible Church, but applicants do not have to be members. We do observe a covenantal admissions philosophy, meaning we intend to serve families who hold the Christian faith. At least one parent must affirm our Statement of Faith. Our goal is to walk alongside Christian families in the upbringing of their children.

13 | Can I apply for a teaching position?

Yes! Please visit our Jobs page

14 | Will class size be limited?

Classes will be grouped depending on enrollment - our goal is to keep class sizes around 12-20 students, depending on age.

15 | I only want enrichment - is that an option?

Yes! Our Thursday enrichment program will be a stand-alone offer open to homeschooling students from outside of our upcoming academic program.

16 | Is it okay if I don't follow the Classical model in academics?

Yes! Our Thursday enrichment program will serve families from all educational philosophies.

Southside Classical Academy is made possible through the generosity of our community. THANK YOU!
